Desktop Publishing - 1 credit
This course is a culminating course designed to integrate the knowledge and skills learned in word processing with the concepts, procedures, and applications of desktop publishing. Emphasis is placed on continued skill development in efficient operation of word processing programs as it is applied to desktop publishing. Critical thinking and communication skills are reinforced in this course as students format, create, and proofread brochures, programs, newsletters, web pages, power point presentations, and manuscripts. School-based enterprises and cooperative education lend themselves extremely well to work-based learning strategies. Other opportunities for application could include simulations, projects, teamwork, and portfolios. (Prerequisite: Word Processing or BCA)
