In Class 3A, Benton’s Trey Elliott, who was 19th last year, made history with a fourth place 18:11 performance. He averaged 6:03 per mile in the three-mile race. It was Benton’s highest finish since Terrell Stout was second.
Benton, which was third in team point standings last year, was 11th this year. The Benton girls were seventh last year and ninth this year, led by freshman Julia Russell (36th with 25:09.)
