Benton debaters were part of an all-Bossier close-out at the Newman Smith High School Debate Tournament in Dallas.   BHS 9th grader Aneceya Collier and BMS 8th grader Jacob Fish won 5 out of 6 debates to make the final round in the 28-team field.  The final round was not held since their opponents were from Airline HS and both squads are coached by teacher Don Belanger.  Jacob Fish was also recognized as one of the Top 10 Speakers at the event; of the 56 debaters, he placed 6th.
