Work on Bossier schools continues this year |

Tiny children darting between SUVs, school staffers wrangling traffic with megaphones and too many cars piled into parking lots are part of the daily routine for parents at many schools.
This year, however, Venessa Raphiel, the parent of two children who will begin second grade at Platt Elementary on Aug. 9, hopes to see some improvement.
Both Platt and Rodes elementary schools are scheduled to have work completed by the first day. Platt will have a road alongside the school, which parents can use to pull off busy U.S. Highway 80 before slowing down to pick up or drop off children, while Rodes will have a circle drive added behind it.
