We are excited about the 2006-2007 school year and our administrators, teachers and support staff are working diligently for the opening of school. Teachers will be involved in staff development activities Monday, August 7, 2006, at various locations around the district. Staff development will be conducted at all school sites on Tuesday, August 8, 2006.

We are anticipating an increase in our student population this year and we have staffed our schools accordingly adding twelve teaching positions to accommodate this anticipated growth.

Please be patient with our on-going construction projects. Our plans were to have these completed by the beginning of school, but some projects are a little behind schedule. We have, however, asked our contractors to expedite the completion of these projects.

One of my goals this year is to visit every classroom in our district. I’ve been in most all of them before but never in a single school year. I believe it is important to show our students and teachers that the teaching and learning activities that occur in each classroom do matter and I appreciate all the hard work being done in our schools.
