 If you are interested in playing tennis in the spring but would like to take lessons before the season starts, here are some options for you. Below you will find a list of tennis centers that offer group lessons or individual lessons. You can contact the pro at each center to find out pricing and arrange times for lessons. Practices will begin in the spring at Benton.
It will be important for you to already have a base knowledge and skill of the sport. The practices will be an opportunity to enhance the skills and knowledge you have. Stonebridge--746-0250.
Gordon is the pro there. He's available for group lessons for an hour on Wednesdays and Fridays. Also, he could give lessons on Saturdays or Sundays. His hourly rate is $6/hr. if there are 6 players; $5/hr if 7 players; and $4/hr. if 8 players.
Cockrell Park (Pines Rd. in west Shreveport)--673-7790. Duncan is the pro. He could set up group lessons for the team 3-4 times a week for 1 1/2 hrs. each at an hourly rate of $5--$6.25/hr.
Querbes Park (Shreveport)--673-7816. Richard is the pro.
Southern Hills – 673-7784
The pro is David. You will need to contact him to find out pricing and times.
Once the Bossier Tennis Center is completed, the pro will be Elana Engleman. You can contact her for pricing and for times available for lessons. Although practices will begin in the spring, there maybe clinics in the fall that will be important for you to attend. There will be more information on this in the fall.
