Page 1 of 5 Benton students Jamie Britt, Alex Little, Al Little, Robbie McKenzie, Carla McNeil, and Lara McNeil participated in the Bossier-Caddo Parish “World of Work” event last week. Benton High ROTC members, Benton Cheerleaders, and members of the Benton High School Chapter of the National Honor Society also participated as volunteers in the education/community project. The project, which was held at the Bossier Civic Center, provided all types of work related opportunities for the participating students, while the volunteers assisted in the work booths set up at the Center. See the pictures here.
The booths offered work activities such as carpentry, horticulture, recycling, cooking, office work, laundry, housecleaning, and many others. The Benton students participated in all the different booth activities, and were awarded Blue Ribbons for their achievements. Volunteers worked at their booths all day, helping students succeed at their assigned tasks/activities. Kris O’Daniel, Special Education Coordinator, along with planners Tre’Nea Rash and Ozzie Stewart visited with the Benton volunteers to provide advance direction. Benton teachers Karen Holladay, Frank Trammel and MSgt. Tim Martin accompanied the students and volunteers to the event.
