Benton advances in 3A playoffs |

 Benton High School's softball playoff victory drought ended on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Jena in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs. The win was Benton's first in the postseason since 2001. This is mainly a sophomore group and it's their first playoff win," Benton coach Michelle Owens said. "It's a big deal. It's the first 20-win season for them. It's been a good year all the way around." Jena took a 1-0 lead with a run in the first inning off starter Jeri Wilson, who allowed only one run in four innings with five strikeouts.
