Students, teachers and parents are cordially invited to the first ever “Massing of Colors” in this area on Saturday, April 1, 2006, at 1 pm at Airline High School Stadium. All the flags of our nation from the first Betsy Ross flag of 13 stars to our present 50 star flag will be on display along with every State flag, many military service flags and guidons from active duty, Reserves and the National Guard. There will be Territorial flags, Revolution and Civil War flags.
Over 200 flags will be on display. The event will be similar to the Olympics when the nations enter and assemble with their country flags and when all are assembled the Doves of Peace are released. Over 1,200 balloons will be released and there will be a flyover by Barksdale B-52 aircraft. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for citizens to see historic flags flown from the 10th Century to the present time.
