Teacher Kelle Head’s Spanish class has been working on a food unit for the past two weeks.  Students researched Spanish cuisine using a Trackstar program.  They also made menus for restaurants in Spanish.  After viewing commercials from Mexico, they tested their marketing skills by filming Spanish food commercials.  They also learned about etiquette, recognizing the difference in American and European customs.  The unit culminated on Friday with a fiesta to practice etiquette technique learned over the past two weeks.  Students dined on Mexican cuisine and practiced “romperse la pinata” (break the piñata) at the fiesta.
