Peri Sandifer, Benton English Teacher, has developed a book of Teacher Prompts for Middle and High School Writing and for Grammar.  Mrs. Sandifer’s book will be published in June 2006, by Incentive Publications.  The book will be part of a series called “Smart Starters” and will be available through the Incentive catalog or via their web site (www.IncentivePublications.com).  Mrs. Sandifer loves to help kids “think”—these prompts require that the students think carefully about their answers and give detailed information as part of the writing exercise. She has been working on this book for about one year—she started the prompts to help her Benton students with their writing skills.  Incentive Publications liked the Writing series so much, they asked Mrs. Sandifer to also write the Grammar series. Mrs. Sandifer says that she is “thrilled to be published for the first time, and is working on more ideas for publication.”  Congratulations from all of Benton High to Mrs. Sandifer!
