ImageLouisiana State Representative Jane Smith visited Benton High to award a special citation from the Louisiana House of Representatives to two Benton teachers for their outstanding work and accomplishments this year.  Stewart Thompson was recognized for achieving Regional Teacher of the Year for 2005 and for his work on the Benton High School web site; Mitch Downey was recognized for his outstanding contribution to Benton High School athletics.  Both teachers received copies of the special citations signed by the Louisiana Speaker of the House and Representative Smith.
