Miss Shere Khan Pageant Underway

Opportunities around at Benton High

The annual Miss Shere Khan Pageant will be held Saturday, February 4th at 7:00 pm in the Airline High School auditorium.  To date, there are 31 contestants for the Miss Shere Khan title, 29 contestants for the Junior Miss title, and 17 entries for the Young Miss Shere Khan title.  Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Benton High School or at the door on the evening of the pageant.  The theme for the pageant this year is “Les Lumieres des Paris” (The Lights of Paris).  The pageant will be emceed by Benton High students Holli Thomas and Nicole Nezat.  Entertainment will be provided by Mandie Emfinger and Lauren Cole; Benton Counselor Glenda Martin and son; Brooke Siem, the River Cities’ Barbershop Quartet and Calling Joshua (a Christian Rock Band). The Benton High School Student Council is selling roses for the event. Contact pageant sponsor and Benton High teacher Jolie Mizell for tickets or for more information.
