Project Graduation Will Save Lives

Project Graduation began in Maine 20 years ago in response to the tragic loss of 18 lives in alcohol and drug related crashes following graduation. Today the term “Project Graduation” describes an illegal substance free graduation celebration sponsored by the community under the supervision of many adult volunteers.

Benton High’s Project Graduation will be a celebration for the 2006 class, as well as a continuing tradition for future Senior classes.  Parents/grandparents of Benton Seniors, as well as school-wide and community support are needed to help with fundraisers (a percentage of the funds raised will be retained for future Project Graduations) and to make this a special, safe graduation celebration for all Benton Seniors. Benton’s Project Graduation will be held on May 20, 2006 from 11 pm to 6 am in the Bossier Civic Center Annex.  Benton Seniors are invited and may bring one friend.  $100 will be given away every hour, with a surprise Grand Prize at 6 am.  There will be a DJ, food, and games as well as prizes.  Help “Project Graduation” make the real Graduation a safe and happy occasion!
