  • The availability of the Bossier Achievement Center and the Charlotte Mitchell Alternative School increases student retention.
  • Students have access to a variety of resources such as technology and the library to help them succeed in their learning.
  • The 4x4 block schedule has given students more time to devote to course work as well as opportunities to select more courses.
  • According to the Opinion Surveys, students and parents both believe the student will graduate from high school and will attend some form of higher education.

Rationale:

  • A diverse curriculum provides students with opportunities to pursue a wide range of career options.
  • A low dropout rate and high attendance rate indicate that most of our students will graduate from high school.
  • According to the Benton High School mission statement, the mission of Benton High is to prepare all students for life-long success; technology is a present-day component of real-world success.
  • According to our Benton Tiger Beliefs, varied instructional techniques, alternative assessment strategies, and maximum use of instructional time provide for differences in learning styles in order that each student might demonstrate achievement.
  • Higher education contributes to the ability to meet personal needs.
