Summary of Stakeholders Surveys

Benton High School’s strengths are as follows: the majority of the stakeholders agree that academics are very important in order to ensure the success of students after they graduate from high school; all stakeholders agree that strong discipline is an integral component in providing a quality education; and all stakeholders agree that safety is a key issue in creating a positive learning environment. The school administrators are seen often and everywhere which accounts greatly for safety in the school (pp. 3-58...3-62).

Benton High School’s limitations are concerned primarily with parent-teacher relationships. Teachers make frequent contacts with parents over the telephone or through email, but all stakeholders agree that the teachers do not recognize most parents in person. Most stakeholders also agree that the parents are not as involved as they could be in school-related activities, and that they could assist their children more in their academics at home (pp. 3-64…3-66).
