UPDATED 10/1/06 TO ALL PARENTS OF 2007 BENTON SENIORS:Several 2006 Benton Senior Parents organized what we hope will become an annual tradition of BENTON PROJECT GRADUATIONS. It took a lot of effort, but was a lot of fun, and very rewarding for the parents and the Seniors. Over $13,500 in prizes and cash were given away to the forty-four 2006 Seniors who chose to attend. Project Graduation is a parent sponsored, drug and alcohol free celebration promoted by the La. Highway Safety Department. Louisiana has the 4th highest fatality rate of teen drivers in the U.S., with many instances occurring in the early morning hours after proms and graduations.
The 2006 Project Graduation Committee reserved over $300 in an account for the Class of 2007 parents to use for Project Graduation. It will take participation from many 2007 Senior Parents to provide this gift for all 2007 Benton graduates to enjoy. We will share the information and ideas we have to help you get started and organized! Please send a note with Your name, Senior’s name, Phone No., and Email address, or the completed form you may have picked up at Ring Ding last May, to Carolyn Pearce, P. O. Box 718, Benton, La 71006, as soon as possible, and you will be notified of a meeting date soon.
