Page 3 of 6 ROTC Cadets visited the Lone Star Aviation Museum and Moody Gardens Educational Center on a recent trip to Houston and Galveston, Texas. The Lone Star Museum houses an art gallery as well as planes from the early days of flight and a collection of World War II and current aircraft. A special treat was the Flight Simulator, where students got the feel of actual flight. The museum also has a replica of a Curtis aircraft (Curtis built engines for the Wright brothers) and Otto Lilienthal Gliders. At the Moody Gardens Educational Center, Cadets visited the Aquarium, the Rain Forest, and participated in a hands-on musical experience with the Discovering Pyramids exhibit. ROTC teachers/sponsors include lead teacher Col. John Collier, MSgt. Tim Martin, and MSgt. David Milner.
