Alpha Delta month
Quarterly clean-up

October was Alpha Delta Kappa month!  Karen Holladay, Angela McCullough and Linda Robinson of Benton High; Sandra Dingler of Benton Middle; and Nancy McGee, retired Benton High teacher, are members who participated in the many October events of the Upsilon chapter of ADK.  ADK is an international teaching sorority that has nine chapters in the Shreveport-Bossier area.  The Upsilon chapter has 38 members; their mission is to support altruistic projects, educational excellence, and world understanding.  Some of Upsilon’s projects include the Providence House, the Renzi Center, The Susan G. Komen Fund, St. Jude’s, and Boxtops for Education.  The group provides uniforms for students in need, donates books to local school libraries, and supports sister chapters in need such as those in South Louisiana (with hurricane relief for those who lost homes and classrooms).  The group provides an annual scholarship for a college junior to help with education endeavors.  Their international theme is “Share the Gift”.  Through the altruistic projects, the annual scholarship and volunteer work, ADK hopes to share their gifts with those in local, state, national, and international communities.
