Page 2 of 10 SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) organized and executed “Red Ribbon Week” to raise awareness among everyone at Benton High of the consequences of destructive decisions such as taking drugs and/or alcohol. Every student, teacher and administrator was given a red ribbon to wear for the entire week to raise awareness. Red ribbons were tied everywhere—even on cars in the parking lot. Students decorated their Homeroom doors with relevant themes and SADD members and their sponsor, teacher Selitha Turner, judged the doors for the best message. Mrs. Sandifer’s Homeroom won the event, and was served doughnuts and juice for their work! Best of all, awareness was raised for everyone concerning making good rather than destructive life decisions.
