Image Our school year is moving rapidly even though we have experienced some unusual events as a result of Katrina and Rita. Our entire state has been affected and the recovery may take a great deal of time. I cannot thank our Board, staff, school administrators, teachers, support staff, bus drivers, parents and our students for all they have done to assist our displaced students, teachers and their families. You have done a terrific job and I’m so proud of each of you.

November is the month in which we recognize all the blessings we’ve been privileged to receive. The weather has been really great and I hope you have enjoyed what autumn offers. Our students have completed one nine weeks, and are working hard to accomplish their academic goals.

Football teams are finishing their regular season this week (November 4 ) and there is a real possibility that all of our high schools may qualify for the state playoffs. Congratulations to those young men, their coaches, fans and certainly their parents. I have been fortunate enough to see all our teams play and I’m proud of the manner in which they have represented their schools and our school system. Good luck to all of our football teams.

I pray that each of you will have a Happy Thanksgiving filled with fellowship and food with family and friends.
