Benton High School 4-H members have a string of accomplishments to brag about.  Erika Anderson represented Benton High in the Southern Regional Horse Show in Alabama in the Individual Horse Demonstration and placed third in the event. Benton students Justin Sheppard (Shotgun) and Chris Long (Archery) qualified and represented Bossier Parish and Louisiana at the National Invitational Shooting Contest in Columbia, Missouri.  Nine Benton 4-H’ers participated in the 4-H University held on the LSU Baton Rouge campus.  State winners included Cassie Emerson (who won an all-expense paid trip to Florida) for Special Occasion and Dillon Bruce (who won an all-expense paid trip to Dallas) for Individual Outdoor Skills.  Blue Ribbon winners at the event included Vanessa Drummond (Creative Choice); Erika Anderson (Individual Outdoor Skills); and Anna Whittington (Wildlife Habitat Judging). Other 4-H’ers who attended the event included Chance Hilburn, Stephanie Emerson, Cody Compton and Chris Long.  Congratulations to all these Benton High 4-H competitors!  Benton’s 4-H Club is sponsored by Science teacher Dan McClellan.
