Page 2 of 7 To raise dollars for Walk for Education, Benton High Student Council members created the First Annual Relays for Education, where students competed with teachers in some challenging races. Teacher teams and student teams competed in events such as Giant Tricycle Races, Hula Hoop Relays, Marshmallows-Covered-in-Chocolate-and Dropped-Off-a-Ladder-into-Your-Mouth Events, Pie-Eating Contests, and Balloon-Carrying Relays. A good time was had by both students and teachers, and the event raised almost $1,000 for Walk for Education. This event was planned and executed by Computer Education teacher Michelle France, who sponsors the Benton High Student Council. Everyone who participated was pronounced a “good sport” and the contest itself was pronounced a “tie”. Pictures of the event are available at www.bentonhighschool.com in the Gallery section.
