Image MINDEN — Benton’s junior varsity football team scored a 24-8 victory over Minden here Monday.  Marcus Hudson scored two touchdowns for Benton on runs of four and five yards. Tim Curry scored the other touchdown on a seven-yard run.  Delanie Hall scored two two-point conversions and Marcus Hudson scored one.

Justin Alkire led the Benton jayvees in rushing with 772 yards in 15 carries.

Hudson had 51 yards in eight attempts. Curry completed three of five passes for 71 yards.  Defensively, Casey Henderson had seven tackles, two behind the line, and Colby Harrington ended the game with an interception.

Benton also won the freshman game, 14-6.

Jamar Sneed ran 22 yards for one Benton touchdown and Delaney Hall ran six yards for the other.

Josh Player scored a two-point conversion.

Corey Henderson had a 60-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown called back because of a penalty.

Colby Harrington intercepted a Minden pass as the Tide jayvees were driving in the final seconds.

Benton’s freshmen are now 3-0.
