Haughton’s boys will play the Byrd Yellow Jackets and Southwood’s girls will play Cotton Valley this afternoon in the first games of the Envision Benton Basketball Tournament.

In other boys’ games today, the host Benton Tigers play Loyola at 7:15 and Captain Shreve plays Springhill at 6 p.m.

Bossier High,  coming off a season-opening  54-43 victory over Southwood Tuesday night, will play Cotton Valley Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Jalen West led Bossier High Tuesday with 17 points and three steals as the Bearkats took a 37-34 lead into the halftime intermission.

Centravious Jackson had 11 points and nine rebounds. Lyndale James, a 6-4 sophomore, had eight points and led the team in rebounds with 13.

Joseph James had nine points for the Bearkats while Tevin Hall had eight points and two steals. Lawrence Blaze and Jermale Dixon also had eight points for the Bearkats.

In girls’ games today, Loyola plays Woodlawn and Haughton plays Green Oaks at 4:45, Benton plays Mansfield at 6 p.m., Airline plays Springhill at 7:15 and Parkway plays Captain Shreve at 8:30.
