1-4A survivors face challenges from 8-4A teams |

Coach Mitch Downey’s Benton Tigers and Coach Rodney Guin’s Haughton Bucs, the Bossier Parish survivors of the first round of Class 4A state football playoffs, will be playing at home for the second week in a row Friday night. But both District 1-4A teams have their work cut out for them against two powerhouse teams from District 8-4A. Benton, the No. 2 seed in the state playoffs, plays the Archbishop Shaw Eagles of Marrero, a New Orleans suburb. Haughton, the No. 5 seed, plays Belle Chasse. “They’ll be the best team we’ve played this year,” Downey says of Shaw. “There’s a reason they’ve been in the Superdome two years in a row.” Read the full article at BossierPress.com...
