Benton’s big plays beat Bossier |

Three big plays on offense and a defense that pitched a shutout gave Benton’s freshmen a 19-0 football victory over Bossier High Monday. The Benton freshmen scored on a 46-yard run by Trevar Senn, a 55-yard run by D.A. Green and a 63-yard run by Lajarrius Turks to improve their season record to 4-1. Defensive standouts for Benton included Trey Childers, Jordan Glaspie, Mack Howard, Terric Glover, Grady Burnett, Dalton Lynn, Collin Cantrell, Brandon Trussell, Tyler Thornton, Chance Henry, Chris Nelson and Datavion Turks. Joey Smith kicked one extra point, but bad snaps spoiled the other two opportunities for Benton, now 4-1. Benton plays Northwood next week.

Benton High School has a long-standing tradition in football. Each and every year the Tigers are among the best in the 1-4A district and in the Louisiana 4A classification. Under the leadership of great coaches, the Benton Tigers put on a great show each and every Fall Friday night in Tiger Stadium.
