D.A. Green ran for three touchdowns and two two-point conversions to lead the Benton High freshmen to a 29-12 win over Southwood Monday. Green scored the first three touchdowns on runs of 43, 12 and 88 yards. His backup, Jacob Humphrey, scored the last touchdown on a one-yard run, and Joey Smith kicked the extra point after the last score. Lajarrius Turks had a pass interception to lead the Benton defense, as Grady Burnett, Datavion Turks, Chad Johnson, Mack Howard, Chris Nelson, Chance Henry, Terric Glover, Gavin Bazer, Wyatt Reagan and Trey Childers all turned in outstanding defensive performances.

Benton High School has a long-standing tradition in football. Each and every year the Tigers are among the best in the 1-4A district and in the Louisiana 4A classification. Under the leadership of great coaches, the Benton Tigers put on a great show each and every Fall Friday night in Tiger Stadium.
