Benton JVs hang on for 20-13 win |

A second-half Parkway rally fell short Monday as the Benton junior varsity took a 20-0 lead into halftime and managed to hang on for a 20-13 victory over the Panthers’ jayvees. Jeffrey Lang scored the first touchdown for the Benton JVs on a 55-yard punt return. Taylor Smith scored the second touchdown on a six-yard sweep around left end. Warren McShan scored what proved to be the winning touchdown on a one-yard run with one second remaining in the first half. Defensive standouts for Benton were linebacker Marshall Garrett, tackle Gentry Grisham and ends LaKelton Collins and Tyler Harrell. Detroit Harris scored one Parkway touchdown on a 15-yard sweep around right end and Carson Baranik threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Deion Ruffins for the other touchdown.
