Tiger Tech Receives $1,000 Donation |

The BHS Engineering Club, Tiger Tech, received a $1,000 donation from Benton residents and Tiger grandparents Ray and Marcia Nelson. The club will use the funds to support activities in the 2008-2009 school year, which will include hosting the 2nd Annual Northwest Louisiana Autonomous Robotics Competition for area high schools. Tiger Tech will also purchase sensors and other hardware and software to augment existing robotics platforms at Benton. This equipment will not only benefit Tiger Tech club members, but will also be used in hands-on activities in mathematics classrooms. Software for the robots will be hosted on computers in a STEM lab, provided by the BHS Administration, which should be ready for operation early in the fall semester. Tiger Tech would like to thank the Nelson’s for their generous support of STEM activities at BHS! |
