Scholorship winner says she owes everything to 4-H Print E-mail

After one experiences cooking, arts and crafts, livestock, horses, outdoor skills, 4-H camp, 4-H University, Marsh Maneuvers, National 4-H Congress, Southern Regional Horse Show, and the North American International Livestock Exposition, the only thing to say is 4-H is a life-changing program.

Hi, my name is Erika Anderson and I have been a 4-H member for the past 10 years.

It started out as just being a 4-H cheerleader for my school, Benton Elementary. Then the next year my brother, Justin, and I decided to try our hand at livestock. We purchased one goat and one lamb apiece. From that point onward everything just kept rolling until now — I show commercial heifers, market and breeding goats, as well as market and breeding lambs. I also show horses. Other than livestock I have tried to participate in everything 4-H has to offer. My life started out as a fun, normal, functioning family.
