With Henderson twins returning for senior season, Benton is the team to beat in 1-4A |

A year ago, the big question in District 1-4A football was how Benton High would adjust to its first season in the state’s second highest classification. At the end of a 12-2 season marred only by an overtime loss to Haughton and a playoff loss to state champion Bastrop, there were no more doubts about the Tigers’ ability to compete at the higher level. They were ranked No. 6 in the final sports writers’ poll lastyear. Coach Mitch Downey’s team goes into its second Class 4A football season as the District 1-4A favorite.
Two of the biggest reasons for this are the Henderson twins, 220-pound fullback Casey Henderson and 210-pound defensive tackle Corey Henderson. They are going into their senior season. Both have been standouts since they were sophomores. Read the full article at BossierPress.com... |
