Flattmann sets composite state meet record in 3,200 meter; also wins 1,600 Print E-mail

Freshman distance runner Kaitlin Flattmann capped an outstanding season with another amazing performance on the final day of the LHSAA track and field championships at LSU's Bernie Moore Stadium.

Flattmann won the Class 4A girls 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, setting a composite (all classes) state meet record in the latter.

Flattmann ran a 10:57.18 in the 3,200. That broke the previous composite record of 10:59.66 set by Ruston's Jakia Williams in 2005. Flattmann's time was about 17 seconds faster than the previous Class 4A record.
