Two students from BHS, Hannah Cherry and Mark Gragston, received full scholarships for the 2008 summer session of the Louisiana Tech Innovative Venture Research (IVR) program. The program, hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Information Technology (CEnIT), covers tuition, housing, meal plan, and fees for the IVR course and one additional course of the students’ choosing. Hannah and Mark will work shoulder-to-shoulder with talented inventors to learn and apply research techniques and critical assessment skills for exploring business possibilities in cutting-edge technology. Both students recently completed the TechSTEP program, along with 6 other BHS students and 4 teachers, which consisted of 2 teacher workshops and 3 teacher/student workshops with engineering faculty at Tech’s College of Engineering and Science (COES).
