Benton wrestlers beat Haughton in ‘Rural Rumble’ |

While three Bossier City high schools were competing in the city wrestling championships at Parkway Tuesday night, Benton’s Tigers were scoring a 54-24 victory over Haughton in the “Rural Rumble” at Haughton.
Benton winners included Joseph LeBleu in the 103-pound division, Mack Brown at 112 pounds, Hayden Henbest at 119 pounds, Trey Elliott at 140 pounds, Jake Harrison at 145 pounds, Shawn Huddleston at 160 pounds, Delanie Hall at 171 pounds, Ryan McMillan at 189 pounds and Casey Henderson in the heavyweight division. Henderson improved his record to 19-1 by pinning Haughton’s Michael Karkar in 46 seconds.
Harrison pinned Haughton’s Nick Gibb in 45 seconds.
Haughton winners included Alex Flores at 125 pounds, John Berry at 130 pounds, Kyle Rainwater at 135 pounds, James Cox at 152 pounds and Jon Cox at 215 pounds.
Flores and James Cox scored first period pins for Haughton, with Flores pinning Benton’s Logan Williams in 1:32 and Ccox pinning Benton’s Josh Stephens in 1:14. |
