Benton wins East Texas Border Bash Wrestling Tournament |

The Benton Tigers won the East Texas Border Bash Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.
The Tigers scored 139.5 points to 136.5 for runner-up Henderson. Huntington finished tied for third with 97 points. Evangel was sixth with 71 points, Byrd seventh with 60 and Northwood ninth with 35.
Benton's Marcus Hudson was named Outstanding Wrestler for the upper weights divisions. He won the 215-pound division.
Evangel's Matt Kimmbel was named Outstanding Wrestler for the lower weights divisions. He won the 112-pound division.
Other local winners were Evangel's Josh Chalys (130), Benton's Delanie Hall (180), Benton's Ryan McMillan (189) and Benton's Casey Henderson (285).
Second-place finishers were Benton's Trey Elliott (140), Benton's Mark Gragston (160), Benton's Shawn Huddleston (171) and Evangel's Zach Calhoun (215). |
