Kaitlin Flattmann won the girls' division with 19:08
Parkway junior Matt Wolfe, trailing Ruston’s Ladarrion Outley by 15 yards in the last 100 yards of the three-mile race, won the race by a foot with a great finishing kick in the boys’ division of the Benton Invitational Cross Country Meet at the Cypress-Black Bayou Recreation Area Thursday.

Wolfe’s time was 16:40.

The girls’ race wasn’t close, as Benton freshman Kaitlin Flattmann won with 19:08.

In team point totals, Ruston was first and Parkway was second in both divisions.

Benton’s Shane Hershberger was third and Parkway’s Michael Bertsch was tenth in the boys’ division.

Parkway’s Olivia Ditt and Morgan Hanson finished 5-6 and Benton’s Julia Russell was seventh in the girls’ division.

With Becca Blubaugh sidelined by shin splints, Stephanie Leslie led Airline’s girls with a 14th place finish. Benton’s girls were third and Airline’s girls fifth in team totals. Airline’s boys were sixth.
