Future Benton ninth grader places fifth at Firecracker 5K |

 Kaitlin Flattman, who is going into the ninth grade at Benton High, finished fifth in the women’s division of the Firecracker 5K here last week with the time of 20:38. Flattman, who holds the Bossier Parish Middle School record in the 1,600-meter run and was Class A state high school runnerup in the 3,200 tow years ago at Ouachita Christian (Monroe), averaged slightly less than 6:30 per mile in the 3.2-mile race.
