Kristen Carpenter and Terryn Tikker, both Benton High School graduates (as of May 21, 2005), have been named to the 2005 Academic All-State Girls’ Basketball Composite Team. In order to be selected to the Academic All-State team, students had to have been an all-district player for the 2004-2005 basketball season, and had to be a senior with a GPA of 3.0 or better.  These two senior ladies both earned a 4.0 Grade Point Average over their years at Benton High, and both were Valedictorians at the recent Benton graduation exercises. The Benton Girls’ Basketball team is coached by teacher Debbie Guidry.
