Louisiana Tech senior Brandon Hudson can’t decide whether he would be a pitcher or a hitter. So he is doing both.

And he is doing both well.

Hudson, a 6-foot, 190-pound senior, is a key reason the Bulldogs enter this week’s Western Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Bulldogs open tournament play Thursday at 3 p.m. against San Jose State.

“He’s always clutch with the stick,” Tech coach Wade Simoneaux said. “He’s who I want at the plate with the game on the line. Hudson’s the guy who will always put the bat on the ball. He’s clutch on the mound, too. He comes in and starts throwing that sidearm curveball for a strike.”

Hudson is Tech’s third-leading hitter at .350 and has worked the second highest total of innings (43 1-3) in relief among Bulldogs pitchers.
Just don’t ask him to decide what he’d rather do.
