At Alexandria’s Oak Wing Golf Course, Benton took fifth place in the Class 3A state tournament with a 662 score. Tuerlings Catholic won the title with 621, followed by St. Louis with 641, Parkview Baptist with 647 and Rayne with 651.
Craig Byrd, the only senior on Benton’s regional champions, led the Tigers with a two-day total of 158.
Sophomore J.T. Soley had two 80 rounds for a 160 score, junior Kyle Johnson had a 173, sophomore Cade McInnis had a 172 and freshman Cole Thomas had a 178. |
