Since 1999, Anna Whittington has logged more than 1,500 hours volunteering at Cypress Nature Study Center. Those hours are even more impressive when you realize the Benton High School senior began logging them before she could even drive a car.

For her senior community service project, Whittington created a birding brochure that will be used to help draw birders to the nature center. She has also worked on a birding station to complement the brochure. The station and brochure will provide information for the more than 10,000 visitors the center receives each year.
