For her senior community service project, Whittington created a birding brochure that will be used to help draw birders to the nature center. She has also worked on a birding station to complement the brochure. The station and brochure will provide information for the more than 10,000 visitors the center receives each year.
Whittington's volunteer work at the nature center grew from her participation in 4-H. "We wanted to do more than just come to a meeting and put a birdhouse together," she said. "That was how it got started and it grew from there." Read the full profile at ShreveportTimes.com... |
