The Benton Tigers had three golfers in the 70s and cruised to the victory in the Region I, Division III golf tournament here on Monday.

J.T. Soley shot a 75 to lead the Tigers. Cade McInnis shot a 76 and Craig Byrd shot a 78. The Tigers also got an 83 from Kyle Johnson and a 95 from Cole Thomas.

Benton had a team score of 312. Second-place Jennings had a 322 and third-place St. Louis shot a 333.

John Willie of Grant had the day's lowest round with a 72. Will Dearman of Winning and Soley tied for second with 75s. McInnis was fourth with his 76 and Byrd tied for fifth with his 78.

Benton advances to the state Division III tournament April 30 and May 1 at Oak Wing in Alexandria.
