Scholarship opportunities

Scholarship applications are available for seniors who have a parent who is an active duty, retired, POW/MIA or deceased military member. Seniors with a 3.5+ GPA and a 23+ ACT can apply for the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship.  Seniors can also apply for scholarships from the Louisiana Life Safety and Security Association, for sons and daughters of active duty law enforcement and fire service personnel; the Louisiana AG Credey--Lou McGehee Scholarship for students planning to major in an agricultural related field (forestry, animal husbandry, ag-business, pre-vet, etc.); and the Louisiana Pest Management Association, for students who plan to major in life sciences.  Applications for the Sheriff’s Scholarships are also available. Scholarship applications are available for seniors who are planning to major in education. Scholarship applications are available for seniors from the Multicultural Center of the South. Two seniors from Benton High School will receive $500 Brandi Middlebrooks Scholarships, which will be awarded based on the following: academic achievement, leadership qualities, school service, work experience, community service, church involvement, personal initiative, and a written essay.  All of these applications and additional information are available from the Benton High Counselor, Gary Feaster.
