Brittney Branum won first place in Advanced Debate at the Monticello High School Speech Tournament in Arkansas.  She also won the “Top Speaker Award” at the event.  Three Benton High students competed in the Airline Speech and Drama Festival in the Dramatic Interpretation event and won Excellent ratings: Rachel Stevick, Jamie Duncan, and Erin Shaver.  Rachel and Jamie, along with Julie Wolf, competed in the Parkway Speech and Drama Tournament, where all three made it to the semi-finals with Superior ratings. To earn these ratings, the students performed in the Poetry and Prose reading sections of the event.  Debate students are coached by Don Belanger. Drama Students are coached by teacher Linda Robinson.
