I know I say so often that this year seems to be going by so quickly, but it is already March! Time does seem to be swiftly flying by. Congratulations to Airline High School, Bossier High School and Plain Dealing High School boys’ basketball teams for winning your first two games in the play-offs. Good luck the rest your season! Spring brings excitement and a little apprehension to those students involved in high stakes testing. Students—remember to get your rest, eat breakfast, and don’t hurry through the test. All we ask is that you do your very best. Thank you to our teachers, para-educators, parents and especially to our students for all your hard work in preparing for these tests. We wish you the best! Our educational family lost our State Superintendent of Education, Mr. Cecil Picard, to a valiant battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease in February. Please keep the Picard family in your prayers as they deal with his loss. Please remember our service men and women who are risking their lives on a daily basis to protect our freedoms. Also remember their families as they carry on their lives while their loved ones are away fighting for all of us. Congratulations to our American Heritage Poetry Contest contestants. Every one of you did an outstanding job reciting your poems. Every time I begin worrying about the future, I see young people who are more than able to lead our country, our state and our local communities in an exemplary manner. We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with our students. Thank you for that privilege. May God richly bless you. |
