Haughton’s Lady Bucs had no home runs in their first seven softball games this season. But they took care of that problem Monday with a school record four homers in the first game of a doubleheader at Benton.
Senior Elizabeth Hughes, sophomore Afton Hill and freshmen Stephanie Jaeger and Hannah Rhodes all homered in the Lady Bucs’ 15-6 victory. Amanda Braswell was the winning pitcher, evening her record at 3-3.
In addition to the four homers, Benton had seven errors.
Benton won the nightcap, 5-1, as Bailey Woodward was the winning pitcher and Jeri Wilson hit a two-run home run for the Lady Tigers.
