Brittney Branum won first place in Advanced Debate at the Monticello High School Speech Tournament in Arkansas last week.  She also won the “Top Speaker Award” at the event.  Three Benton High students also competed in the Airline Speech and Drama Festival in the Dramatic Interpretation event and won Excellent ratings: Rachel Stevick, Jamie Duncan, and Erin Shaver.  To earn these ratings, the students performed in the Poetry and Prose reading sections of the event.  Debate students are coached by Don Belanger. Drama Students are coached by teacher Linda Robinson.
