Alexander Parmater has been selected as the Benton High School Student of the Year.  The Award was presented to Alexander by Bossier Parish School Superintendent Ken Kruithof and BHS Principal Scott Smith. Alexander has a 4.0 grade point average at Benton High, and a 4.0 for the 18 hours of credit he has already earned at BPCC.  He was a semifinalist in the Siemens National Competition for Math, Science and Technology and is still competing as a semifinalist in the Louisiana Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.  Alexander was also selected to be part of the SMART program (Science and Medicine Academic Research Training).  He is a member of the National Honor Society, President of the Student Council and the Senior Class, and has won numerous Oratorical contests around the district and the state.  Alexander is the Cross-Country Team Captain, an Eagle Scout, and Vice President of his Church Youth Group.  He is the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award. These are only a few of the many awards and accolades that have been presented to Alexander, and well deserved.  Benton High is proud of Alexander Parmater, Bossier Parish and BHS Student of the Year.
