If I owned a hat, I would be tipping it to Bossier Parish wrestlers and girls’ basketball teams for super performances this year. Parkway has finished among the top three wrestling Division II teams in the state eight years in a row, and was a strong second place in the state meet at Kenner over the weekend.
A headline in The Times last Friday (“Parkway solid favorite to repeat”) was obviously written by somebody who didn’t bother to look at the seedings. The state meet shaped up as a toss-up between Parkway and Northside, with St. Michael a strong third. Most Parkway wrestlers lived up to their seedings, but a 3-8 performance in Saturday semifinals spoiled the Panthers’ title hopes. Read the full article at BossierPress.com... |
